Network security and privacy are critical issues for our society. There are numerous attacks in the cyber space, such as DDoS attacks, information phishing, financial fraud, privacy attacks. In this talk, I will report our published work on DDoS attack traceback and detection (IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems), and privacy protection (IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security). Furthermore, I would like to discuss the opportunities and challenges in cyber security. Finally, our recent work on cloud security will be briefly discussed.
